MHL: Cancellation of membership

The Hockey National Commission of Gerenia is going to cancel the Nation's membership in the Micras Hockey League (the league, not the organisation), as announced in a press conference earlier today. The leadership of the Commission mentioned the irregularities of the first season and the lack of funds to send the Gerenian representatives abroad to play their matches as the main causes of the decision.

Hockey Club Stentor was the team that represented the country in the MHL, for the league's first season. The team finished in fourth place, with fifteen points after ten matches. Stentor took part in the Gerenian Ice Hockey League earlier this year, as well, eventually obtaining the title. The national league also was affected by some contingencies, which led to a three-week delay in the completion of the tournament. Stentor defeated Standard Victoria with three of their players injured. Then the Commission proposed to improve the local league instead of having one team participating in two competitions almost at the same time.

Regarding the country's membership in the MHL as an organisation, it will not be cancelled by now, though a few commissioners support the idea as they question Barnaby Hands' job as President of the MHL. When asked about the possibility of disbanding the national team, the Commission's President replied "We want to keep Gerenia's presence in the intermicronational scene, so the answer is no. The national team will not be disbanded".

Once the MHL is informed about the National Commission's decision, the membership in the league will be declared void.
